Fun week... NOT!

Long story short, my Nanny, mother-in-law, and I have all been in the same hospital this week. I'm the only one home now - had an emergency appendectomy Monday night. Nanny and Karen are doing better and should be released soon. Steve and my parents have been taking good care of us sickies! And Luke has been a very good boy with all this going on. He's VERY interested in looking at mommie's boo boos. It's been hard not being able to pick him up, but we've actually figured out ways to make it work, and I've learned that he can climb into the car and get into his car seat when bribed with a jelly bean or two. In fact, he likes his Flinstones vitamins so much, one vitamin works as a pretty good bribe.

Well, I'm off to lounge around and watch movies for the day. Can't remember the last time I did that!! I feel like I'm on vacation.

:)

P.S. Daddy took Luke to Will's birthday party at Gymboree...

Choo Choo Train

Luke was sooooo excited when we asked if he wanted to ride a choo choo train, so we took him to the park where they have this beautiful little train that goes on a 1.5 mile track through the park. Of course, we had to ride it twice and also got to sit in the conductor's seat!

A sweet email from my friend Joan whose daughter is in Luke's class:

"I was going to call you yesterday to tell you how sweet Luke was to Anna when I dropped her off yesterday. I had taken her to the door of the classroom and she sat down on the mat outside as if to say 'I am not going'. ... Marshall asked Luke to help Anna into the classroom and Luke took her hand, helped her stand up and sweetly led her in the room. She loved it and it was a precious sight."

Awwwww.

RANDOM LUKE STORIES...

Luke's favorite word these days is "Eww". And he uses it appropriately, too - when he get something gooey on his hand, says "Eww" just like Mommy would say it.

Luke LOVES kissing boo boos... his own or other people's. He's even got the loud kissing smack down.

On Sunday, I went out the front door for a second and when I returned, Luke had locked the deadbolt! I kept ringing the doorbell and knocking, but Steve thought I was playing around with Luke. I had to let myself in through the garage door keypad.

On Monday, I put Luke in his car seat and closed the door. And as I was reaching for my door, I heard the locks click - Luke somehow had my keys and had pressed the lock button! This time it was absolute panic because it was nearly 100 degrees and the windows were all up. I had my cell phone and was prepared to call 911, but I asked Luke to press the button and he managed to press the unlock button for me. WHEW!!! Good thing I have a smart kid!
