Luke decided he did NOT want to dress as a fireman (HUGE drama!):
We compromised and agreed he didn't have to wear the overalls with suspenders (they were so cute, too) - just the jacket and hat with regular pants:
Things were starting to look up at the neighborhood fair, even if he did get about 5 toothbrushes from the dentist booths:

Pop and Julie came to visit from California - they were going to be pirates with me, but Pop's costume didn't make it into the luggage:
